Flying

For travelers wishing to visit Walla Walla, options for flying are rather slim, but worth the trip. Walla Walla’s Regional Airport has one airline that services the city: Horizon Air. All of Walla Walla’s air service comes from Seattle with two daily flights that arrive at 2:15 pm and 8:50 pm to give visitors some choice to choose a flight that fits their needs. Walla Walla’s airport is located just northeast of town. Typically, traffic in the airport is light, but travelers should come to the airport 45 minutes to an hour before their flight leaves to ensure making their flight. Located at the airport are several options for car rentals such as Hertz, Budget and Enterprise. Hotel Shuttles are also available as well as taxi service.

Shuttles

For those coming to Walla Walla from a nearby town, a shuttle provides the easiest way to get to Walla Walla. The Grape Line shuttle offers service between nearby Pasco and Walla Walla. Grape Line runs three round-trips daily starting at 6:45 am and ending at 6:40 pm. Grape Line also has an office in the Walla Walla Transit Center. Hours for the Walla Walla Transit Center are 11:30am to 5pm, seven days a week, and the phone number is 509-529-7442. For more information about Grape Line, call (877) 433-4775.

Bus Service

Greyhound Bus Lines are only available locally from Seattle, Spokane and Pendleton arriving in Pasco, Washington. They no longer arrive in Walla Walla. Through a partnership with WSDOT and Greyhound, Grape Line is a regularly scheduled service that runs three round-trips daily. From Pasco, the Grape Line connects with Grape Line and also Amtrak. To book a trip on Greyhound, call (509) 525-9313 or (800) 231-2222.

By Car

Driving to Walla Walla is another option for getting into the city. From Seattle, begin heading east on I-90 for about108 miles. From there, merge onto I-82 E via Exit 110 towards Yakima for 109 miles before merging onto US-12 toward Richland/Pasco via exit 102. From here, follow the signs until you arrive downtown.*

To get to Walla Walla from Portland, Oregon get onto I-84 E for about 185 miles. Then, take the US-395 exit (EXIT) and head towards Umatilla/Irrigon. Then, turn right onto US-395 and continue to follow the road through Washington. You will come to a fork in the road, keep right to continue on US-730. Eventually, US-730 becomes US-12 E. Follow this road for about 30 more miles and you will eventually find yourself at Walla Walla.*

And note, if you are traveling from Seattle or Portland, once you are on US-12, be sure and visit the beautiful wineries and other attractions on the way.
