The Cayuse winery was started by a young French vigneron who visited the Washington town and loved what he saw. He bought a few acres of “useless” stone-covered farmland which people claimed would never succeed and turned it into a whole lot of spectacular wine. The winery made a mission to craft food-friendly wines and created at least a dozen critically-lauded wines each year.
